It is a dangerous precedent when insurance companies can havie an undue influence with some state agencies, creating conflicts of interest where the policy holders interests are being compromised. In fact in many states, the government leans more favorably towards the insurance company rather than the policy holder. For example in one eastern state, there is a state fraud unit which is overseen by a group of members of the insurance industry! This creates a significant potential for a conflict of interest which can seriously undermine the policy holder. Health Care Reform is now a federal law. The government and insurance companies will have more control over our health care and our lives. There needs to be safeguards to protect patients and policy holders from the unscrupulous behavior of insurance companies and the potential of governmental bureaucrats making decisions that may severely affect the outcomes of our lives.
Please feel free to express your experiences and frustrations with other policy holders and patients on this web site. You can also write to insuranceblog@aol.com to discuss your case individually.
